Samsung’s Galaxy J possibly will launching in markets outside Japan

Image
Back in near the beginning October, Samsung announced the Galaxy J for Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo, as something of a cross between the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 – namely, the device was a Galaxy S4 but with a Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box. Now, a variant of the Galaxy J with model number SGH-N075T has appeared in benchmarks – the Galaxy J carries model number SGH-N075, and the T at the end means we could see a launch of the device outside Japan in the future. Samsung usually adds a T to model numbers of devices that are either headed for T-Mobile in the USA or Telstra in Australia, so the SGH-075T could be headed for either of those markets, or it could be specific to Taiwan as well. However, it’s quite uncommon for Samsung smartphones launched for Japanese carriers to get an international launch, but this could be an exception, though we’ll have to wait for more information to find out where Samsung is planning on launching ...

China’s Nubia offers Android phone with Snapdragon 800 and 16GB storage for $330

Image
It was only just over a month ago when ZTE’s premium brand Nubia made its debut launch in the US, and today the company’s already launching follow-up models in China. Starting with the Z5S, this is essentially the Z5 (or simply the 5 in the US) packed with some new goodies: a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 SoC, a 5-megapixel front camera, a dedicated camera button, 4K video capture, a multi-purpose infrared remote feature and rare support for all three 3G networks in China (China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA, China Telecom’s CDMA2000 and China Unicom’s WCDMA). The rest of the phone is pretty much the same as before: 5-inch 1080p (443ppi) LCD, 2.67mm bezel, 7.6mm thickness, 2GB RAM, 2,300mAh battery, and a 13-megapixel main camera with f/2.2 aperture plus digital image stabilization. There’s also a Z5S LTE that supports both FD-LTE Band 3 plus China’s TD-LTE Band 38/40. Additionally, its main camera is enhanced with an f/2.0 aperture with optical image stabilization, and voice calls should be c...

Watch the LG G Flex Magically Heal Itself Before Your Eyes After Being Scratched With Keys and a Knife

Image
Marques Brownlee has posted a video demonstrating how the LG G Flex smartphone heals itself after being scratched by keys and a knife. LG Electronics officially unveiled the LG G Flex, a smartphone curved designed to follow the form of your face, on October 28th. Among the several new technologies, the LG G Flex is the first smartphone to apply a “Self Healing” coating on the back cover. The elastic coating has the ability to recover from the daily wear-and-tear scratches and nicks that un-cased smartphones are likely to receive, keeping the device looking newer longer. LG posted an official video demonstrating the coating which can also be seen below; however, Brownlee’s video tests the coating under less than optimal conditions. Take a look! Huawei Gets Around to Unveiling Ascend W2 Windows Phone 8 Handset in India

Image
We’ve known about the Huawei Ascend W2 since April and then the Windows Phone Blog was seen introducing it early this month. Now Huawei has officially announced the device and also revealed that it will be hitting India soon enough. Since no exact release date has been given, we weren’t expecting to hear any mention of the price either. But no need to get your hopes up, an ‘upcoming model’ tag is still clinging to the Ascend W1 which made an appearance in India back in August. Meanwhile, Russia and the Netherlands will be welcoming the smartphone before we roll in to December. The Ascend W2 has a 1.4GHz dual core Snapdragon MSM8230 processor at its heart and works on 512MB of RAM. A 4.3-inch WVGA display with IPS technology is nailed across its front and there’s a 5MP camera with 720p video recording capability on the back panel. In China where it is already available, it supports TD-SCDMA and UMTS networks. The three capacitive buttons lined up below the display are backlit wi...

Rumour: Samsung Galaxy S5 to Have 64-bit CPU with Aluminum Body – All Details

Image
The most recent rumours about the next flagship smartphone from Samsung, i.e. the Galaxy S5 says that it would be coming with the 14 nm Exynos 6 64-bit CPU, and with this, it could be the first Android smartphone to have a 64-bit CPU? iPhone 5S from Apple has the 64-bit A7 chipset and Samsung won’t be waiting for long before they come out with the upgraded CPU. The architecture would remain the same, with Samsung including the Octa-core architecture of the Exynos chipset but it expected that the new one would have the capability to run all the cores at once. The production of these chipsets is expected to be by the end of this year, and Samsung would be the first to use the Exynos 6 chipset in the Galaxy S5. Innovation at Samsung started with Galaxy and it now seems that it will continue further and in the latest, the rumour series for Galaxy S5 has started already. While there is still no clue about the probable date or launch of this smartphone, it now seems that Samsung is thi...
